From what I've observed it's only white people, the so-called 'white saviours', who behave like this. I'm not sure what they hope to accomplish with this attitude, but it's certainly not helping the actual cause they think they're fighting for. And personally, I'd much rather listen to the voices of people who actually face oppression, rather than those who want to speak on their behalf.
