Great read! Your experience growing up really reminded me of what my older brother went through. He was relentlessly bullied in school, just because he didn't exactly fit in with what the society dictated a man 'ought to be'. He always had the 'nice guy' label follow him around, to his detriment.

But it's true that there is something sinister behind the 'deceptive' type of nice guys that often resort to fake niceness to get their way. I think these are usually the guys that women 'friend-zone' and then their true self starts to come out.
