I love this story! Perhaps you subconciously sensed that she was uncomfortable in that situation, as we often are. It's one thing to get hit on, politely reply with a 'no', and then they go away, and completely another when someone doesn't go away even after we made it clear we're not interested. It personally makes me really uncomfortable, and oftentimes unsafe.
