Thank you, Eric! I think the main culprit here is how Americanised Internet, and mainstream culture in general, has become in the recent decades. I'm not even surprised that an article about nuance and importance of East European history went over many people's head. Probably some didn't even both reading it and jumped straight to conclusions, doing the exact opposite of what they seem to preach - as you pointed out in your comment.

Still, European history, culture and current issues are complex, interesting and important subjects, and I will definitely keep talking about them.
